Inventions that make history

Revolutionary: The gas mantle light and flint
In 1885, Carl Auer von Welsbach demonstrated that the element didymium consists of two elements, praseodymium and neodymium. That same year, he eclipsed this important finding by producing a totally revolutionary invention – the gas mantle light! In 1903, he invented and patented flint without attracting much notice at that time. But this circumstance was soon to change – and today, we are still producing flint for customers around the world with great success! The milestones in the history of our company
